Coming from a small secluded island in the middle of a vast blue ocean, many of us islanders often feel as though our dreams and talents are somewhat out of reach. It was Felicity Passon’s childhood dream to swim and break boundaries in the water. Her mother often reminds her of the start of her love for water which was at the grand old age of one month, and which, with each passing year, grew and turned into her own version of her reality. For 17 years, the young woman’s love for the sport has never wavered.
In June, for the occasion of the National Day celebrations, the company partnered with Arterial Network Seychelles for the launch of The Giant Tortoise Parade public art project. The launch took the form of an art competition which was open to all children curious enough to venture into the Hunt Deltel tent to create an original Giant Tortoise art piece.
In April, we sponsored our first Mass Clean-Up, which took place on Beau Vallon Beach and was jointly organized and funded by ourselves and SYAH (SIDS Youth AIMS Hub).
The aim of the event was to raise awareness amongst school children about the detrimental effects of littering our beaches on endangered species such as sea turtles. Sustainability for Seychelles also participated by organizing a painting station for anti-littering signage on the site of the weekly ‘bazar labrin’.
DHL GARD (Get Airports Ready for Disaster) is an initiative of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, the world’s leading mail logistics group supported and funded by the UNDP and the German government. The training aims to prepare airports in disaster-prone areas to handle the surge of incoming relief goods and traffic after disasters. GARD was launched in 2009 as part of the GoHelp program in which the Deutsche Post DHL Group pools all of its activities related to disaster preparedness and management.
During the month of August, Hunt Deltel’s Commercial Shipping Section was pleased to host the first familiarization visit of Mr. Jonathan Peter Horn to Seychelles.
Mr. Horn in his capacity as the new Southern Africa Cluster Top, was accompanied by the Seychelles Commercial Focal, Mr. Ashley Khushal Woomchurn and the Mauritius/Seychelles Country Manager, Mrs. Khadeeja Oozeerally-Luckhun.
A surface journey to a total of 203 countries within the next 3-4 years. The adventure started on October 10th 2013 at 10:10am.
Torbjorn C. Pederson (Thor) arrived in Seychelles on the Maerskline cargo vessel Cape Moss on 22nd July 2016.
Having well publicized his mission through Facebook, Thor caught the attention of Hunt Deltel as local Maerskline agent.

On 29th August, Hunt Deltel had the pleasure of hosting a group of Independent School A-Level students who visited the Fleet Logistics Centre at Zone 14, accompanied by their Business Studies teacher Mrs. Tainy Payet. The students learned about the diverse portfolio of activities being operated by the company and the wide range of career opportunities which can be explored within such a group.
A stone ‘s throw away from Hunt Deltel Fleet Logistics Centre on Zone 14 of Ile du Port, the
newly constructed salt storage warehouse is the most recent of the group’s property development project.
As part of Hunt, Deltel's CSR plan for 2016, the company has partnered with SIDS Youth Aims Hub (SYAH-Seychelles), a youth-led NGO promoting and advancing sustainable development projects through youth education, empowerment and action. This dynamic NGO is currently undertaking the Marine Debris Challenge, hosted by Positive Change for Marine Life based in Australia.
