In 2021, the Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) and Hunt Deltel inked an MOU for exchange and cooperation, just as Covid 19 reported cases were soaring and affecting many families. RCSS was distributing humanitarian aid like vouchers and food products that they had received from various donors, groups, and companies from both the public and private sectors.
The storage capacity of RCSS at their Providence headquarters has been increased to ensure an emergency stock capacity of edible products sufficient to cover 100 families on a preliminary basis at all times.
The RCSS continued to provide basic food supplies and other requested aid, such as psychosocial support, to those in the community who were under quarantine or isolation. According to the Seychelles Red Cross, 79 families received assistance between October 2021 and January 2022.
