Hunt Deltel is proud to have assisted the Hope Foundation in transporting a much-needed consignment of wheelchairs to Seychelles, supporting vulnerable members of our community.
The initiative was born out of the Hope Foundation’s commitment to advocating for palliative care and providing assistance to older adults who face mobility challenges at home. While palliative care focuses on patients with life-threatening conditions, the Foundation’s domiciliary visits revealed that many older adults could regain a sense of independence and dignity through the use of wheelchairs.
Thanks to a generous initiative by Dr. Brewer and his family, wheelchairs were sourced abroad to meet this pressing need. However, the journey to Seychelles was not without its challenges - delays caused by Hurricane Helene in 2024 significantly impacted shipping timelines.
When the Foundation’s initial plan to airfreight the cargo fell through, they turned to Hunt Deltel. Our team was more than willing to step in and facilitate the transportation of this essential cargo from Charleston, USA, to Victoria, Seychelles. Despite the delays, the wheelchairs arrived in July 2025 and are now ready to be distributed by the Hope Foundation.
Distribution will be coordinated by the Hope Foundation’s executive committee following written requests from individuals or their families. The wheelchairs will offer a renewed sense of mobility and comfort to those who need it most.
Hunt Deltel is honoured to have contributed to this meaningful cause and remains committed to supporting initiatives that improve lives in Seychelles.
