From 10 to 12 September 2025, Hunt Deltel’s Group Legal Advisor, Mr. Peter Purvis, led a delegation comprising Mrs. Debra Ally, Trademarks Supervisor, and Ms. Jenny Lawen, Trademarks Assistant, to the 12th edition of the Adams & Adams Africa Network Meeting in Pretoria, South Africa.
This year’s theme, “Owning Innovation: African IP for a Global Stage,” set the tone for three days of engaging discussions and collaboration. Day one featured valuable one-on-one meetings with our partners at Adams & Adams, fostering deeper collaboration and alignment.
Day two was dedicated to a full-day conference bringing together leading experts on intellectual property in Africa, exploring current challenges and opportunities. The event concluded with a gala evening where top offices from across the continent were recognised for their contributions.
We were delighted to receive a special mention during the evening – a small but meaningful acknowledgement of the work we do. It motivates us to keep improving and striving for even greater impact in the years ahead. Day three wrapped up with closing sessions and networking opportunities, allowing us to reflect on key insights and chart the way forward.
A special highlight for our team was seeing the beautiful painting by Seychellois artist Isabelle Houareau, which Hunt, Deltel & Co. Ltd had commissioned as a gift to Adams&Adams during the 11th Annual Meeting. The artwork has been given pride of place on their "Wall of Africa" display, serving as a poignant reminder of the strong ties that bind the two partners.
