Hunt Deltel was proud to support the talented young dancers of Elite Dance & Fitness Studios as they represented Seychelles at the Elements of Dance South Africa (EODSA) competition in Gauteng, South Africa, in July 2026.
The 27-member team, made up of dancers aged 11 to 19, travelled to Johannesburg to compete at regional level against dance schools from across South Africa. For many of the students, this was their first opportunity to compete at an international dance competition of this calibre. And they certainly made Seychelles proud.
Competing across 15 choreographies in Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop, the team returned home with an impressive 9 Gold and 6 Pro Gold awards, with every performance achieving a medal.
Their achievements also included the Best Studio Award, Best Choreography Award for Poetic Theory, Best Group Award for 27, and 3rd Place in the Best Duet Awards. Their results have also earned the team eligibility to compete at the South African Nationals in Pretoria in October 2026, where winners will have the opportunity to progress to the World Championships.
More than a competition
Beyond their success on stage, the trip provided the young dancers with an invaluable opportunity to learn, develop and experience the international dance community.
Ahead of the competition, the team took part in more than 10 hours of rehearsals before attending workshops led by experienced South African dance professionals across Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Amapiano.
The experience allowed the students to explore new dance styles, strengthen their technical abilities and learn from professional choreographers and instructors, while gaining greater insight into competitive dance at an international level.
